エキストレドパルファムとして調香されたこの日本限定フレグランスは、日本の抹茶の澄んだ香りから幕を開け、ベルガモットとレモングラスの爽快なアクセントが鮮烈に広がります。

その中心には、日本の寺院や由緒ある湯処で尊ばれてきたヒノキの温かく瞑想的な香りがあり、シダーウッド、ムスク、海藻の乾いたミネラル感が奥行きを与えます。

私たちは単にグリーンティーの香りを作りたかったわけではありません。日本を象徴する、奥行きがあり、落ち着きと現代性を併せ持ち、精神性を感じさせる香りを目指しました。ジュリアンはその想いを完璧に表現してくれました。

「若い頃(残念ながら随分前のことですが)、東京で大学交換プログラムに参加しました。自転車や徒歩で巨大な都市をさまようのが好きで...多くの寺院は主にヒノキで建てられ、赤や茶色の色合いをしていました。日本の体験の中で特に印象に残っているのは伝統的なお茶会であり、静けさの中での内省的な時間でした。抹茶の酸味のあるグリーンと、寺院の樹木の香りが混ざり合うイメージを抱いたのです。」

The presence of temple hinoki and wisps of incense; the dry mineral facets of seaweed, musk, and cedarwood. A convergence of eternal tradition breathing quietly within modern Tokyo.

Matcha-buya reflects the energetic atmosphere of Shibuya alongside the quietude of a matcha moment. Formulated as an Extrait de Parfum, this Japan-exclusive fragrance opens with the clear scent of Japanese matcha, followed by the exhilarating, vivid accents of bergamot and lemongrass.

At its core lies the warm, meditative scent of Hinoki—revered in Japanese temples and historic bathhouses—deepened by cedarwood, musk, and the dry minerals of seaweed. It is a story told through the harmony of green and wood; a fragrance where modern Tokyo meets eternal tradition.

"As a student on an exchange program in Tokyo years ago, I spent my days wandering the vast city on foot or by bike. The temples, built primarily of Hinoki in deep red and brown hues, left a lasting mark on me. But the most striking experience was the traditional tea ceremony—an introspective moment of pure silence. I imagined the tart green of matcha blending with the ancient, woody scent of those temples."
